Eroshan Sandeepa Gamage

About & CV

Eroshan Sandeepa Gamage

Eroshan Sandeepa Gamage is a PhD candidate at CEMEF, Mines Paris – PSL University, developing explicit finite element and phase-field methods to simulate machining of 3D-printed Inconel 718 (ANR CENTURION project). His MSc at the University of Moratuwa developed meso-scale models of the non-linear bending of ultra-thin woven fibre composites for deployable space structures, published in Composite Structures (2026).

Open to industry R&D roles from early 2028 — aerospace, advanced manufacturing, simulation software and numerical-methods development — in Germany, France, Switzerland or the USA.

My story

I grew up in a small village in Sri Lanka with limited resources and a lot of encouragement from my family. A childhood fascination with the cosmos turned into a passion for engineering: I ranked in the top 1% of the national G.C.E. Advanced Level examinations and entered the University of Moratuwa, the country’s leading technological university.

My first semester fell short of expectations. By immersing myself in structural mechanics and calculus I turned it around, earning Dean’s List honours in four semesters and graduating with first-class honours. Since then my work has moved from measuring deformation, to modelling it, to building the solvers that model it.
